Aizwal: In a joint operation of Serchhip Battalion of Assam Rifles and the Custom Prevention Force, 55 bags of areca nuts have been recovered at Rauntlang in Champhai district on Tuesday.

According to report, the areca nuts worth Rs. 7.7 lakh were meant to be smuggled out of the country through Indo-Myanmar International Border in Champai district of Mizoram.

In this connection one person has been arrested. Notably, in the past few months there had been many such seizures in different parts of Mizoram.
