Digital Desk: On Thursday, the Kaliabor sub-division administration in the Nagaon district of Assam declared that Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) will be imposed prohibitory before Bhogali Bihu.
Fishing at the beels that straddle Kaziranga National Park and other local water bodies has been banned ahead of Magh Bihu, according to the information that has been obtained.
With the implementation of Section 144, gatherings of five or more individuals near water features in the area are now prohibited.
The Kaziranga National Park's biodiversity and natural resource conservation were taken into consideration when making the decision.
According to sources, all regions falling under the Burhapahar forest range, as well as Potali Beel, Deusur, Ghorakati, Tunikati, and Deupani, will be subject to the requirements of Section 144.
The authorities have stated that the action was necessary with conservation at the top of the priority list, even though it will make it more difficult for individuals to observe Uruka customs.
Activities related to fishing will not be permitted in the aforementioned regions. The sub-divisional magistrate's office in Kaliabor issued the directives.
