Digital Desk: A teacher named Anwarul Haque was arrested for providing answers to his daughter in the examination hall.

Cachar Police arrested the teacher who facilitated his daughter in writing answers inside the exam hall.

Anwarul Haque, the teacher, was reportedly suspended after a video of him answering his daughter's Higher Secondary exam questions went viral on social media. Another teacher, Bikash Purkayastha, was also suspended for having his phone with him during invigilating.

On the other hand, examination of Haque’s daughter has also been cancelled.

Anwarul Haque was reportedly on the run following the incident. The Banskandi Police arrested him on Thursday after conducting extensive searches. Police are currently questioning Haque at the Lakhipur Police Outpost.

Bikash Purkayastha, the other teacher, is currently on the run.

Bikash Purkayastha, the principal of Banskandi Nena Mia HS School, has denied all allegations against him assisting any candidate inside the exam hall.

On Thursday, the alleged mastermind of the HSLC paper leak scam was apprehended by Assam Police in Lakhimpur, Assam.

Pranab Dutta, the principal of Luit Kaboli High School in Lakhimpur and the supervisor at the examination centre, has been identified as the alleged mastermind. 

According to sources, another teacher named Kumud Rajkhowa has also been arrested in connection with the case.

Furthermore, two other Gogamukh residents have been detained for questioning. According to sources, both teachers have been fired.
