Furthermore, it was stated that Baruah had been pressuring Mansur to be married and had even reported Mansur for rape to the local police.

Digital Desk: Transgender advocate Swati Bidhan Baruah was released on bail on Friday from a jail sentence that had kept her in for a month. In the Guwahati suicide case involving her partner, Swati was the accused.

Baruah was taken into custody on March 1 in connection with the Mansur Alam suicide case in Pandu, Guwahati. Mansur, Baruah's lover, is said to have killed himself after experiencing mental abuse at the hands of Swati.

The investigating police officer was ordered to provide the case diary in court, but he did not, therefore the district magistrate's court granted her bail. The bail was set by the court at Rs 30,000 plus a surety.

As previously reported, Mansur had a relationship with transgender person Bidhan Baruah; nevertheless, their union was troubled by allegations that Baruah had caused Mansur long-term mental suffering.

Furthermore, it was stated that Baruah had been pressuring Mansur to be married and had even reported Mansur for rape to the local police.

But afterward, the advocate accused the late Mansur of rape. After Mansur was apprehended and a case was filed against him under sections 376(2) (f)/420/386/325/450/354 D/ 506/509/120B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), R/W Section 67 IT Act 2000, and R/W Section 18 (d) of the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019, Baruah had challenged the court's decision to grant bail to Mansur.

Mansur's family, meanwhile, claimed that he worked for the previous 1.5 years at Swati Bidhan Baruah's home, where the young woman later had an illicit relationship with him.
