Digital Desk: Assam Transport Department implemented a few rules on Friday to ensure the safety of all children using the school buses in Guwahati city.

In compliance with the court's decision, the Transport Department issued these rules.

As part of these rules, school buses will no longer have unrestricted passage and must adhere to court-mandated regulations.

Notably, under the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights policy, each school bus will be required to have a specialized female security guard on board.

Additionally, school buses will be required to have CCTV cameras installed and running to uphold the commitment to safeguarding the safety of child passengers.

From now on these rules have to be followed very strictly and there will be no leniency from the enforcement.
