Digital Desk: In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances, and has been identified as Ponkhi Handique.
However, the reason behind Ponkhi's death has not yet been ascertained, but looking at her body, everyone suspects it as murder.
According to reports, Nitikesh Das, a teacher working in a government school and a resident of Sepakhaiti, had married Ponkhi six months ago. The two met on social media.
Ponkhi Handique, the eldest daughter of Bhairav Handique, a resident of Duwarisiga village under Nitaipukhuri police station, was a talented young woman. Ponkhi was involved in various cultural activities and was a brilliant student from an early age. She was the assistant general secretary of the Sivasagar Students Unity Committee and had a passion for modeling, anchoring, and acting.
It may be recalled that following her father's complaint, the Namrup police arrested her husband Nitish Das, and sent him to Dibrugarh district jail. After this tragic incident, it is sending shockwaves across the state.
