Digital Desk: The Bhogali Bihu festival and Shilpi Diwas were celebrated in Kolkata on Saturday at the Assam Bhawan premises, organised by the Assamese Women's Welfare Association of Kolkata.
The event featured various games, engaging activities, and a Bihu-themed quiz, adding excitement to the celebrations.
Simultaneously, the Women's Welfare Association commemorated Shilpi Diwas through a series of programs.
They presented a captivating musical narrative using the songs and poems of Jyoti Prasad Agarwala.
Additionally, the association members showcased vibrant performances, including dance dramas, music, and poetry, which infused energy and cultural richness into the Assam Bhawan grounds.
Established in 1971, the Assamese Women's Welfare Association annually celebrates festivals such as Magh bihu, Bohag Bihu, Jyoti Diwas, Rabha Diwas, Sankardev Tithi, and Janmashtami.
The organisation is dedicated to promoting Assam's culture and heritage beyond the boundaries of the state.
