She was taking the MV Sapteshwari ferry from Nimati Ghat to Aphalamukh Ghat when the incident occurred at about 3:30 pm today.

Digital Desk: According to reports, a young girl in Assam was rescued on Monday after she slipped and fell into the Brahmaputra River.

She was taking the MV Sapteshwari ferry from Nimati Ghat to Aphalamukh Ghat when the incident occurred at about 3:30 pm today.

The teenager, named Puja Bezbaruah, reportedly slipped and fell into the strong current of the river while taking pictures on her phone. 
 
Following the incident, the girl was successfully removed by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) through the execution of rescue operations.

After that, Puja, a resident of Baligaon in Jorhat, was admitted to hospital (GMCH) to receive medical care, sources said.
