Subham's body was later cremated at the Tikak Colliery Crematorium without telling the authorities.

Digital Desk: A 20-year-old youth died due to a landslide in Assam’s Tinsukia district. The incident occurred at Ledo 6 No Line of Tirap Colliery (NEC) in the Margherita region.

The deceased has been identified as Subham Das. Reports said that Das died while he was carrying illegally procured coal.

According to sources, the deceased person allegedly worked for the Ledo Tea Estate's Prabin Tanti, a member of the coal mafia.

Tanti hired Subham to smuggle coal from the collieries without permission.

However, a local said that the coal mafia threatened Subham's family to keep quiet about the incident, and therefore the body was not sent for a post-mortem or police verification when Subham died in the landslide.

It is to be noted that reports further claimed that Subham's body was later cremated at the Tikak Colliery Crematorium without telling the authorities.
