Lanka: On Friday, Bikash Rai, who is the Head Assistant of Lanka High School in Hojai, was caught red-handed by the Chief Minister's Special Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Cell. He was caught under corruption charges for allegedly taking bribes from a retired teacher named Kamal Bora.

This news was shared by the Special Director General of Assam Police, G.P. Singh, on his official Twitter handle.

The tweet reads, "In another case, One Bikash Rai, Head Assistant, Lanka High School, Hojai has been caught red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 10000 by a team from Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption, Assam."

Kamal Bora had worked as a teacher for Lanka High School, Hojai. It has been alleged that Bikash Rai was taking a bribe from the retired teacher Kamal Bora for processing his leave encashment matter.

As per sources, Bikash had initially taken Rs. 25,000 from Kamal Bora for processing leave encashment matter. However, Bikash demanded Rs. 64,000 from Kamal Bora after he recieved the pension amount of Rs. 6 lakhs.

After facing several demands from Rai, he approached the Chief Minister Vigilance and Anti Corruption cell.

The retired teacher also filed an FIR in the Anti-Corruption Beaureu Police Station against Bikash Rai for allegedly demanding bribe.

A group of 15-18 individuals from the special team caught Bikash Rai yesterday in front of the school. Bikash was caught red-handed while receiving a bribe amount of Rs.10000 from Kamal Bora.
