The fact that no students from Dhubri appear in the state's top five scorers is especially concerning...

Digital Desk: The results of the 2024 High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination have disappointed the Dhubri area once again. Under the direction of the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), the state pass rate was an impressive 75.7%. However, Dhubri's poor 62.6% passing percentage was insufficient.

Of the 22,958 Dhubri students who appeared for the exams, which were held between February 16 and March 4, 2024, only 14,379 were successful. According to the breakdown, 3,721 students received first division, 7,169 received second division, and 3,489 received third division.

The fact that no students from Dhubri appear in the state's top five scorers is especially concerning. Unfortunately, this is not a new trend.

In recent years, Dhubri has continuously lagged behind the state average. While only 48.14% of Dhubri students passed the examinations in 2022, compared to the state average of 56.49% compared to the state's average of 56.49%, the district's pass percentage in 2023 was 63.35%.

Teachers and concerned individuals believe that a multifaceted strategy that addresses issues including teacher preparation, resource allocation, student motivation, and infrastructure development is needed.
