Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday highlighted the remarkable progress made in the state's startup ecosystem over the past three years, attributing this growth to his government's robust support and initiatives.

In a tweet, Sarma revealed that 489 startups have received comprehensive support from the state government during this period. To further its commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, the government has granted Rs 7 crore to 74 startups, enabling them to scale their operations and realize their innovative ideas.




Assam Startup Nest, a dedicated startup incubator, has played a pivotal role in this success. Startups incubated at The Nest have collectively raised an impressive Rs 100 crore in external funding, showcasing their potential and viability.

The chief minister also noted the substantial revenue generated by these startups, amounting to Rs 40 crore. Additionally, these ventures have created an impressive 4,900 employment opportunities, significantly contributing to the state's economic development and providing a platform for skilled professionals.

The Assam government's proactive approach to nurturing startups has garnered praise from various quarters, with stakeholders lauding the initiatives undertaken to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation within the state.
