September in Assam was one of the hottest months this year. With the arrival of Autumn, the weather has altered completely. As Durga Puja is around the corner there is widespread rainfall all across the state creating chaos among people.

The Regional Meteorological Centre at Borjhar in Guwahati released a report suggesting that they are expecting light to moderate rainfall for the upcoming 5 days in most parts of Assam apart from that some places would likely experience thunderstorms.

According to the Meteorological Department, the recent weather phenomenon along the Bay of Bengal coast has caused rain clouds to migrate northeast, resulting in this weather condition. Since October 2nd night, the sky remained overcast in parts of Assam with anticipated rainfall in various other regions of the state, including Guwahati.

As per the report if the heavy rains continue it will disrupt the forthcoming Durga Puja celebration as people await with much eagerness. But on the brighter side, this downpour significantly dropped the temperature spike that caused havoc among people 10 days ago.
