The arrested person, Dambarudhar Dutta of Silonibari OP, was caught red-handed while taking bribe money from the complainant.

Dutta allegedly demanded the bribe money from the complainant and his family in exchange for assisting them in a criminal case, police stated.

Taking to Twitter, ADGP (Law & Order) GP Singh wrote, "Today, Team from the @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped red-handed & arrested ASI Dambarudhar Dutta of Silonibari OP under North Lakhimpur district after he accepted bribe from the complainant for giving relief to complainant and his family in a criminal case. @assampolice @CMOfficeAssam".

The anti-corruption cell, in collaboration with the Assam Police, is keeping a close eye on all forms of corruption across the state. Many state government officials have been caught red-handed receiving bribes in recent months.
