On Friday, a fraudster named Abhishek was apprehended by locals while attempting to steal money from ATMs.
Digital Desk: Police apprehended one fraudster for allegedly attempting to steal money from an ATM in Guwahati's Beltola area.
According to reports, the fraudster attempted to steal money from SBI and HDFC ATMs in the Beltola bazaar area.
On Friday, a fraudster named Abhishek was apprehended by locals while attempting to steal money from ATMs.
Abhishek is said to be from Patna, Bihar.
He was later turned over to the Guwahati Police Department for further investigation. However, two other suspects, Bibek and Santosh, managed to flee the scene.
Abhishek was arrested after the police seized two POS machines.
A case has been opened, and an investigation into the incident has begun.
Earlier in January, Guwahati police arrested a gang of thieves involved in ATM robberies throughout Assam. Lutfor Rahman, Aminul Haque, Hanifur Rahman, and Saidul Islam were among those detained. According to sources, the gang was responsible for robbing people of lakhs of rupees at ATMs across the state.
