Canberra: Man from Australia dies after a shark attacked him despite the efforts made by the brave surfers and onlookers who tried to save him.

The man, who is believed to be in his 20s and he was attacked by the shark at Emerald Beach near Coffs Harbour which is about six hours north of Sydney.

The emergency team, which included a helicopter medical team rushed to the location around 11 am local time on Sunday after receiving calls for help.

A New South Wales Ambulance inspector, Chris Wilson, said that paramedics came to find bystanders and local surfers attempting to save the man, saying the group was incredibly brave in such a challenging situation.

The patient suffered a very critical injury in his arm, and despite the efforts of surfers and bystanders, and other emergency services, he couldn’t be saved.

The beach and surrounding waters were closed for swimmers after that incident.

It was the second shark attack recorded in Australian waters this year, according to the Taronga Conservation Society Australia
