Digital Desk: Renowned astrologer and father of actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Aparshakti Khurana, Pandit P Khurrana, died on Friday in Mohali. In an official statement, the family confirmed the news. Khurana, a well-known astrologer, had written a number of books on the subject.
The family statement read, "It’s with our deep sadness to inform that Ayushmann and Aparshakti Khurana’s father, Astrologer P Khurrana, passed away this morning at 10:30 am in Mohali, owing to a prolonged incurable ailment. We are indebted for all your prayers and support during this time of personal loss."
According to reports, he had been hospitalized at Fortis Hospital in Mohali for the last two days and was under treatment for a heart condition.
Last year, Ayushmann shared a touching message on Instagram for his father in which he described how the actor's own life had been impacted by his father's astrology zeal. Ayushmann stated that his father studied law but chose to be an astrologer. We obtained it from him. The discipline. The passion for music, poetry, films, and art. He was a law student but has a strong interest in astrology. He is the cause of my name's double n's and double r's. He also taught us that we have the power to determine our own fate and that our good deeds could surpass any soothsayer. My companion, philosopher, and mentor. Ayushmann changed his name spelling in 2016 on the recommendation of his father to make it numerologically right. In an interview with Hindustan Times in 2017, he stated, "After all, my father has been an astrologer since before I was born. In fact, this practise (spelling names differently) arrived late (in the rest of the country), and much later in Mumbai."
