Digital Desk: Hasifa Khanam, a resilient student from Jogijan in Hojai district, has overcome leukemia to achieve academic excellence.

Despite her battle with the life-threatening disease, Hasifa secured an impressive 69.50% in this year's High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLC), drawing widespread admiration.

Her journey began seven years ago when she was diagnosed with cancer.

Coming from a family of modest means, with her father working as a daily wage labourer, the daunting cost of treatment initially seemed impossible.

However, through the Cancer Care initiative led by businessman and politician Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, she received approximately Rs 7-8 lakh for medical expenses.

While her treatment is still ongoing, her determination to succeed never wavered.

Moved by her perseverance, Badruddin Ajmal met with Hasifa today in an emotional encounter.

Both Hasifa and her father were overwhelmed with gratitude as they recalled the support that saved her life.

Upon learning that financial constraints were threatening her dreams of higher education, Ajmal announced that he would take full responsibility for her future.

Pledging to support her studies for life, he stated that he now considers her his own daughter, ensuring that her academic journey continues without further obstacles.
