Earlier, AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal stated that his organisation will support the INDIA bloc unconditionally in its effort to create the next government at central.

Digital Desk: In the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Assam, the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), led by Badruddin Ajmal, will contest in 3 out of 14 seats, party MLA Rafiqul Islam stated.

"It has been decided by our party to contest for Lok Sabha seats in Dhubri, Karimganj, and Nagaon. Before this, our party secured the Karimganj seat, and Chief Badruddin Ajmal of our party currently serves as the Dhubri Lok Sabha constituency's MP. This time, our attention is on the Lok Sabha seat in Nagaon," stated Islam.

He went on to express his conviction that the AIUDF was ready for the next elections. The AIUDF MLA said that his party will fight against the BJP.

"We have a sizable vote bank and our supporters in many of the remaining 11 Lok Sabha seats in the state and they will not vote in favour of BJP," Rafiqul Islam stated.


Regarding the 12 political parties in the state that make up the United Opposition Forum, which is chaired by Congress, the AIUDF MLA stated that although the forum was established, it was not united.

AIUDF had not received any invitation to join The Indian opposition political parties block INDIA.

Prior to this, AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal stated that his organisation will support the INDIA bloc unconditionally in its effort to create the next government at central.

The AIUDF secured just one seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In the 2019 general election in Assam, the AIUDF received 7% of the vote. The party contested in both Karimganj and Barpeta, which they had won in 2014.
