Digital Desk: Another police official has been accused of involvement in the Assam Bajali corruption case, according to reports on Tuesday.
The officer has been identified as Hrishikesh Das, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Border Branch, according to sources.
According to the source, he was summoned by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Assam to its headquarters in Guwahati and is currently being probed.
A team from the Assam CID, on the other hand, arrived at the Directorate of Forensic Science in Guwahati's Kahilipara earlier today. According to sources, the CID team was accompanied by Bajali SP Siddhartha Buragohain, supari merchant Rabiul Islam, and two other accused.
According to the information, the CID would conduct separate voice tests on Siddhartha Buragohain and Rabiul Islam. The two will subsequently be taken to court, where the CID will be required to produce all relevant evidence.
It is said that SP Siddhartha Buragohain sought two MacBooks from supari businessman Rabiul Islam.
On Monday, the CID team discovered the MacBook after performing extensive search operations at the home of linkman Kishore Baruah in connection with the case.
