Gujarat: Bajrang Dal members burnt a copy of the Kama Sutra outside a bookstall in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, stating that the book insults Hindu deities by showing them in vulgar positions.

Additionally, the Bajrang Dal members threatened the owner of the bookstall saying that if it sells any copy of the Kama Sutra shortly, then they will be compelled to burn the entire store.

A viral video of the incident shows the members inside the bookstall, showing the illustrations in the book, claiming that the book showed Hindu deities in 'vulgar positions'.

Later, in the video, the members went outside the bookstall and set the book on fire, shouting slogans of 'Har Har Mahadev' and 'Jai Shree Ram.

Notably, in the past, several such incidents have been reported where Bajrang Dal and others go against the ancient Indian Hindu Sanskrit text on sexuality, eroticism, and emotional fulfillment in life, authored by Vatsyayana, claiming that it insults the Hindu deities.

According to researchers, Kama Sutra guides us to find a life partner, maintain one's love life, the natures of love, and other aspects concerning the pleasure-aiming faculties of human life.

The concept of the Kama Sutra evolved from Indian philosophers only, but today also it is one of the most controversial topics and a taboo for the Indian orthodox people.

The score of orthodox Indians and some organizations tried to remove it from the Indian ideology claiming it to be vulgar and anti-society.

Earlier, movies on Kama Sutra have been produced but were banned from screening in India, claiming it to be 'too erotic and full of sexual content' not fit for the Indian masses to watch.
