Abhishek Chatterjee, who has appeared in several successful films, played a key role in the Bengali television series ‘Khorkuto’, starring Trina Saha and Koushik Roy.

Digital Desk: Tollywood is in mourning following the death of Bengali film and television actor Abhishek Chatterjee. Reportedly, the actor suffered a heart attack. At the time, he was 57 years old. Even after his illness, the senior actor appeared on set for the upcoming TV show Ismrat Jodi yesterday (March 23), and his situation deteriorated. As per reports, the actor puked a few times on the set, and the crew members rushed to help him. However, the actor denied going to the hospital and instead returned home. His family consulted a doctor, after which the actor received medical attention; however, he died late at night. Abhishek, who has appeared in several successful films, played a key role in the Bengali television series ‘Khorkuto’, starring Trina Saha and Koushik Roy. The news has taken Tollywood by surprise. Laboni Sarkar, Gourab Roy Chowdhury, Trina Saha, Koushik Roy, and many others mourned the actor’s unexpected death. Meanwhile, CM Mamata Banerjee took to Twitter and wrote, “Sad to know of the untimely demise of our young actor Abhishek Chatterjee. Abhishek was talented and versatile in his performances, and we shall miss him. It is a great loss for TV serials and our film industry. My condolences to his family and friends.” Abhishek, a senior artist, played the role of hero in many Bengali films and romanced nearly with all of the female stars of the time. Pothbhola, Ora Charjon, Amar Prem, Madhur Milan, and Bariwali are among his films.  Moreover, the actor was recently seen on Bengali television. He played Trina Saha’s father in the comedy-drama ‘Khorkuto’, which was a big hit. He also appeared in several shows, including Mohor, Phagun Bou, Tapur Tupur, Ichche Nodee, and Andarmahal.
