Sources claim that the Congress wanted a few modifications to the Samajwadi Party's list of 17 candidates. But the regional party with its headquarters in the UP opposes these changes.

The Samajwadi Party is unwilling to hand over these seats to the "Grand Old Party," according to sources who also state that the Congress party wants the constituencies of Moradabad, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Meerut, Amroha, and Lucknow. According to the Samajwadi Party, the Congress continues to change its list. However, the Congress claims that the party intends to run five or six of its candidates on the Congress symbol out of the seventeen seats given by the SP.

However, Congress GS KC Venugopal reiterated that the SP-Cong alliance is still on. "It is in final stage. Any time it can be finalised. Discussion is going on. Congress President has appointed a team. They are discussing."

As a response to the matter, Dimple Yadav, the head of the Samajwadi Party, stated, "We have already determined the venue for the Samajwadi Party's election contest, and I think the party will be strong against the BJP." Talks are underway between senior leaders."
