Digital Desk: The gruesome murder of Sharddha shocked the nation on Monday. The incident has also evoked a sharp reaction from the politicians. Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ram Kadam demanded that the Delhi Police take into account the "Love Jihad" angle when looking into the Mehrauli murder case.

Kadam in a tweet, said, "#JusticeForShraddha I request Delhi Police to probe if the brutal murder of Vasai resident #Shraddha Walkar was a conspiracy case of #LoveJihad? Was accused forcing #Shraddha to convert and hence torturing her? Did she refuse to convert and that is why he took her life?"

Notably, the Sharddha murder details indicate that it may have been a preplanned murder. The main accused in the case, Aftab Amin Poonawala, is constantly changing his statements.

Reportedly, Poonawala chopped his live-in partner's body into 35 pieces. He also purchased a 260-liter refrigerator to store chopped pieces of Sharddha's body. It took 15-18 days to dispose the body parts of the victim at various locations throughout the national capital.

Reports stated that the victim began pressuring the man to marry her soon after the two moved to Delhi. They used to fight all the time, and it used to get out of hand. The incident occurred on May 18.

Earlier in the day, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) issued a notice to the Delhi Police regarding the incident.  In a letter, the commission, wrote, "DCW has taken suo moto cognizance of the gruesome murder of a girl in Mehrauli, Delhi. It has been reported that the girl was living in a flat with her male partner." DCW Chairperson Swati Maliwal asked for a copy of the FIR as well as information on any other people involved with the main accused in the case.
