In their outrage, the family reportedly caused significant damage to the hospital property, smashing various items and demanding the immediate closure of the facility.
Reports indicate that the woman had undergone three surgeries within 24 days due to her critical condition.
The deceased, identified as Manjila Bibi from Madhushaulmari village, tragically succumbed to her ailments under mysterious circumstances.
Allegations have surfaced that the nursing home has a history of surgical errors and medical negligence, leaving numerous patients permanently affected.
Critics have long accused Gauripur Nursing Home of prioritising profit over patient care, exploiting patients financially while compromising their safety.
In this particular case, the victim's family had repeatedly requested the hospital to discharge her for advanced treatment at another facility.
However, hospital authorities, including the attending doctor, allegedly refused their requests.
Shockingly, the woman was discharged just an hour before her death, under circumstances that remain unclear.
She passed away en route to Bongaigaon, where she was being taken for advanced medical care.
