Digital Desk: A shocking incident has surfaced in Borjan village of Tamarhat, where a dead body was exhumed from a grave due to what appears to be a medical error.
According to the victim's family, the case revolves around Mehnaz Parbin, the daughter of Jahar Ali.
Mehnaz was married six months ago, following religious customs to Nazir Sheikh of Padmabil village under the jurisdiction of Gossaigaon police station in Kokrajhar district.
On February 20, Mehnaz allegedly hanged herself at her in-law's residence and was immediately admitted to RNB Hospital in Gossaigaon. Tragically, she passed away while undergoing treatment.
Despite being informed about the circumstances, the doctor allowed the family to take the body home without notifying the police.
Following the doctor's approval, both the in-laws and the paternal family buried her on February 21.
Surprisingly, just 24 hours later, the doctor reported the incident to the Gossaigaon police.
Acting on this information, the Golakganj Circle Officer from Dhubri district, along with police from Gossaigaon and Tamarhat, the body was exhumed from the grave and sent for a post-mortem examination.
This series of events has raised critical questions, particularly about why the doctor permitted the body to be taken home without involving the authorities and why the family was allegedly misled.
The victim's family is now demanding a thorough investigation into the matter and appropriate punishment for those responsible for this situation.
