Digital Desk: Amid nationwide election fervour, Manipur was rocked by a shocking bomb explosion on Wednesday night. The incident occurred in a shop located within the Jakuradhor Village Panchayat, situated in Manipur's Jiribam district, around 3 am.

Reports circulating widely indicate that the blast caused significant damage to several shops, the perpetrators of which remain unidentified. Promptly, the Jiribam police initiated an investigation into the matter. No casualties have been reported thus far.

In response to the alarming incident, various organisations such as JDO, JIMPAL, JAKCL, and UJYL swiftly mobilised protests, demanding the quick apprehension of those responsible for the explosion within a 24-hour timeframe. Despite the efforts of law enforcement, the culprits remain at large.

Consequently, a call for a shutdown has been issued by the protesting groups, slated to commence from March 30th to March 31st.
