Mumbai: Panic gripped in South Mumbai yesterday after an abandoned car with explosive material inside was found near Antilia, the Mumbai residence of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani. An FIR has been lodged for the same as Intelligence Bureau officials reached the spot to investigate the matter.

As per reports, police found 21 gelatin sticks, each weighing 125 gm from the abandoned SUV vehicle. Police said that the total weight of the explosive is 2.60 kg, enough to explode the entire car if gelatin sticks are attached to other explosive components.

Mumbai police is now trying to trace the owner of the SUV who left the vehicle at the spot through CCTV footages. More than eight teams formed to investigate the matter and the routes of the car in which the materials were brought.

It is learnt that police found many number plates inside the car, which match the registration numbers of cars in Ambani's cavalcade. "The registration number on the vehicle's number plate was the same as that of an SUV in Ambani's security detail," police had said. The police also found a letter inside the car, however, they refrained from disclosing the contents of the letter.
