Guwahati: In yet another case of a chilling murder in Guwahati city, a man allegedly committed suicide after slashing off the throats of his wife and son today.
The incident has been reported from Guwahati's Satgaon area.
As per preliminary reports, it has been noted that the family was reeling under abject financial crisis. Unable to bear the burden of monetary setback, the man killed his wife and son before taking his own life.
The deceased identified as Bhabesh Sarma, was an owner of a Homeo chemist shop. His wife Himadri Sarma and son Parag Sarma were both attacked by Bhabesh Sarma.
Meanwhile, sources have quoted that Himadri Sarma is battling for her life in GMCH.
Bhabesh was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his home while his wife and son were lying inside in one of the rooms in serious condition.
The police have reached the crime scene and conducting investigation on the case.
Meanwhile, sources have quoted that the family was undergoing heavy losses in their pharmacy business since the lockdown period. Unable to repay the loans and the huge amount of debt mounting on his head, Bhabesh Sarma broke down mentally.
