Guwahati : The main accused who created the ‘Bulli Bai’ app has been arrested by the IFSO unit of Delhi Police from Assam. The police unit arrested the accused who made the app from GitHub.

The accused, identified as 21 years old Neeraj Bishnoi, was arrested by the IFSO Unit of Delhi Police, who will now be taken to Delhi for questioning in the ‘Bulli Bai’ app controversy.

Earlier, the Delhi Commission for Women had raised objection on the objectional content being uploaded on ‘Bulli Bai’ and ‘Sulli Deal’ apps, connecting both apps with same propaganda.

As per a statement isusued by the Women Commission, the commission took suo moto cognizance of media reports regarding uploading of ‘morphed photos’ of several notable Muslim women on the ‘GitHub’ app without the consent of the individuals. The commission asked the Delhi Police to appear before it and list those arrested in the ‘Sully Deal’ and ‘Bulli Bai’ cases.

Earlier, three people were arrested in connection with the ‘Bulli Bai’ app controversy, including on 18 year old girl.

The other two nabbed by the Police were MayankRawal (21) from Uttarakhand in the early hours on Wednesday and the other being an engineering student Vishal Kumar Jha (21) held from Bengaluru.

Hundreds of Muslim women was listed for “auction” on the “Bulli Bai” mobile app, with photographs sourced without permission and doctored.
