Mousumi Gogoi, the victim of the brutal murder, hailed from Tingkhong Dibrugarh.
Digital Desk: A heinous event took place in Naharani Path, Hatigaon, Guwahati, where a 27-year- old Mousumi Gogoi was attacked and stabbed in her left abdomen. The attack took place around 11:10 am and Mousumi breathed her last at 12:15 pm at Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH), revealing the autopsy report of the deceased.
Mousumi Gogoi, the victim of the brutal murder, hailed from Tingkhong, Dibrugarh. Her father's name is Prafulla Gogoi moreover, Mousumi lost her mother at a young age and grew up in a poor family. In 2021, she started working at an NGO in Guwahati due to financial constraints. Currently, her family consists of her paternal uncle, brother, and a ailing father, who has been suffering from heart disease for a long time. The family was unaware of Mousumi's romantic relationships.
Mousumi was previously married, however three years ago her husband passed away in an accident, leaving behind two daughters. Unfortunately, one of her daughters died of a brain tumor last year, and the elder daughter is now eight years old.
Yesterday, Mousumi had filed an FIR with the Paltan Bazar police station to inform that she had received multiple threats from Bhupen. The arrested accused, Bhupen Das, 32, a married man and a cab driver hailing from Nalbari who has a family, is undergoing treatment for his injury caused by his attempt to stab himself. Initially, indications suggested it was a murder case, but further investigation has revealed a possible love affair angle. More information is expected on this case.
