The complaint said that the complainant had no other choice than to file the present complaint and asked that you take appropriate legal action against the accused parties.

Digital Desk: A case has been filed against Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, for alleged copyright infringement when they used music from the Yash-starrer KGF 2 during the Bharat Jodo Yatra campaign.

Jairam Ramesh and Supriya Shrinate, both members of the Congress, are listed as the second and third accusers, respectively, behind Rahul Gandhi. According to the complaint made by Bengaluru-based music label MRT Music, the illegal synchronisation of the sound recording constitutes a violation of Section 63 of the Copyrights Act.

"Making a false electronic record to present it as genuine and defrauding the general public is a serious offence as well. It is argued that the complainant has suffered significant damages as a result of the accused's unauthorised uploading, downloading, and distribution "stated MRT Music.

Under Sections 403, 465, 120, and 34 of the IPC, Section 66 of the Information Technology (IT) Act of 2000, and Section 63 of the Copyrights Act of 1957, an FIR has been filed against the party and the three leaders of the Congress in particular.

The complaint said that the complainant had no other choice than to file the present complaint and asked that you take appropriate legal action against the accused parties.

This incident is not the first of its kind. Actor Akhil Iyer, who is based in Bengaluru, accused Congress in September of exploiting his image without his permission during a campaign against the Basavaraj Bomai-led administration. In addition, he had threatened the grand old party with legal action.

The head of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Amit Malviyacriticised Congress for violating copyright and said, "Congress filed a second lawsuit after using an image of Kannada actor Akhil Iyer improperly in their campaign. This time by MRT Music, the company that controls KGF2's famed music label. Without permission from the production company, Congress used the movie's songs during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Stealing is prevalent!"
