CBI special Judge SP Naik-Nimbalkar issued a notice to Netflix Entertainment Service India...


Digital Desk: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday filed an application before a special court in Mumbai seeking an urgent stop to an upcoming documentary series on Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accused in the Seena Bora murder case.


The document series titled, 'The Indrani Mukerjea Story: The Buried Truth' promises to peel back the layers of Sheena Bora's 'sensational' murder case and is scheduled to air on Netflix on February 23.


The CBI filed the application through public prosecutor CJ Nondode where the CBI appealed to the court, "to issue direction to accused and other concerned for staying/stopping the featuring of the accused persons and the persons connected with the case in the documentary by Netflix and its broadcasting on any platform till the conclusion of the ongoing trial."


CBI special Judge SP Naik-Nimbalkar issued a notice to Netflix Entertainment Service India. The hearing on the application has been scheduled for February 20.


In a distressing event, Bora a 24-year-old was allegedly abducted and strangled to death and subsequently burn her body by Indrani Mukerjea, her driver Shyamvar Rai, and ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna in April 2012.


Bora was Indrani's daughter from her previous relation. Her burnt body was found in a forest near Raigad District.


Bora's murder came to light after her ex-husband and her driver confessed to the crime.


Indrani was arrested in August 2015 and was bailed in May 2022.


In 2016, Agnidev Chatterjee directed the movie 'Dark Chocolate' depict an 'inspired' version of "Seena Bora's Murder Case" The film starred Mahima Chaudhry and Riya Sen as Indrani Mukerjea and Seena Bora.
