Today, on Bir Chilarai Divas, we honor his sacrifices and celebrate his role as a protector of Assamese traditions. 

Digital Desk: The legendary fearless general of the Koch dynasty Bir Chilarai led Assam to extraordinary growth and protection by utilizing his strategies and warrior excellence. Shukladhwaj gained his nickname "Chilarai" or “Kite Prince” because of his exceptional war speed .He was born in 1510. He was the son of Maharaja Viswa Singha, the founder of the Koch dynasty and Padmavati, a princess from the kingdom of Gaur and was the brother of  Kamata Kingdom's king Nara Narayana.

The general position of Bir Chilarai allowed him to build the Koch kingdom through military expansion while defending it against enemies which earned him fame as a patriotic symbol. Aside from his military service Bir Chilarai demonstrated his qualities as an artistic benefactor and statesman dedicated to advancing the well-being of everyone in his kingdom. 
Bir Chilarai's legacy, though often overshadowed by time, remains deeply embedded in Assamese folklore and history. Through his exceptional heroism and strong leadership he dedicated to his home country he remains an eternal inspiration for all future generations. The Assamese commemorate Bir Chilarai Divas by remembering his sacrifices and his protective service toward Assamese cultural heritage. His legacy lives on through his name as an unrecognized great hero who taught us about Assam's powerful unification and patriotic spirit.
