The remuneration of central government personnel is scheduled to grow by 44% starting in the following year...

Digital Desk: Employees of the central government covered by the 7th pay commission have been seeking information about, among other things, DA arrears and a DA raise.

However, the government has not made a decision as of yet. Government workers have long demanded an increase in the dearness allowance and the release of DA arrears.

The need for a new wage commission is also growing amid all of this. An earlier report claimed that the 8th pay commission, which would replace the current 7th pay commission, could be introduced by the Narendra Modi government. The 8th pay commission would be announced by the Centre in 2024, just before the Lok Sabha elections, according to the report.

In addition, the new pay commission would be put into effect in 2026, two years later. The government reportedly decided to constitute the 8th Pay Commission, but the official notification from the Central is still expected. Sources state that government employees' salaries will significantly increase if the Centre accepts the 8th Pay Commission.

As per the rumours, central government officials can expect their salaries to climb by 44% starting in 2019. Compared to the old commission, the new pay is anticipated to bring about a lot of new improvements.

Notwithstanding several allegations, the Center has previously denied receiving any proposals for the 8th Pay Commission.

Additionally, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee recently stated that her government will be unable to offer increased dearness allowance (DA) to state government employees "even if she is decapitated."

Banerjee's declaration comes as a combined group of state government employees prepares for a nationwide protest on March 10 to demand DA arrears.
