After Chandigarh University in Gharuan, Kharar, Mohali, announced the cancellation of sessions till September 24, students had already left for their homes.

Digital Desk: After Chandigarh University at Gharuan in Kharar, Mohali, declares non-teaching days until September, students are returning back home. The alleged Chandigarh University video leak case has become harder to pin down, with a second objectionable film recovered from the accused girl's mobile phone.

On Sunday, both police and university officials insisted that there was just one video on the phone, and it was of the girl, which she had shared with a friend. The SSP stated on Sunday that "sharing her intimate film with her lover and not making it public is not a crime."

All you need to know about the 'leaked video' controversy at Chandigarh University.

The girl in the latest video cannot be identified because her face is obscured. Police suspect it does not belong to the accused girl.

In another latest outcome of the case, authorities discovered that some videos had been removed from the mobile device. It is now going to submit the girl's and the other two accused's cell phones to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Chandigarh for testing.

The two male accused are also suspected of selling indecent videos to websites or overseas clients. According to sources, questioning the accused showed that the two had one additional helper. Cops are investigating his involvement.

Meanwhile, police presented the three accused before a judge and asked for a 10-day remand. They were given seven days in jail.

During the hearing, police stated that early investigations revealed that the accused reportedly used to collect obscene recordings of pupils and put them in another device to sell them for quick money. "We need to question the accused to recover that equipment," officers said in court.

However, the defence attorney claimed that no pornographic footage of a female student had been distributed. The defence attorney acknowledged that a further video had been retrieved from the accused girl's phone, but claimed that the girl's identification had not yet been confirmed.
