Digital Desk: A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Chandrapur as the surging waters of the Kolong River swept away two individuals. The incident took place in Dhipuji Janpam area late at night, at the time when they were returning back from their farm houses. As they made their way through flooded fields, the visibility was quite less and they were caught in the river’s powerful current. 


Even though the emergency responders and people nearby saved one of the people, however, his companion remains missing. The missing youth has been identified as Arun Saikia, a resident of Kajoli Chowk, Chandrapur. The efforts to find him have not been successful so far.


Rescue teams swiftly arrived at the scene and are continuing the search operation. The incident has cast a shadow of grief over the local community, highlighting the risks caused by monsoon-flooded rivers in the region.
