Digital Desk: The Cherry Blossom Festival 2025 has announced a special tribute to the late Zubeen Garg, set to take place on Saturday, November 15. The much-awaited “Zubeen Garg Tribute” will be one of the festival’s most emotional highlights, celebrating the life and legacy of the legendary Assamese singer.
The tribute will feature performances by Zublee, Priyanka, Prabin, and Arupjyoti, who will recreate Zubeen’s timeless hits on stage. The time further gives the story more emotion, as it coincides with the theatrical release of the final film of Zubeen Garg, Roi Roi Binale.
Announcing the event, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said, “I am delighted to unveil the line-up for the Cherry Blossom Festival 2025. This year’s festival will be a grand celebration of music, art, and culture, reflecting the vibrant diversity of our state. He further invites everyone, to celebrate the festivities he termed it as a celebration of unity by way of art and music.
The two-day festival, set at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Polo Grounds in Shillong, promises an electrifying experience. Saturday’s line-up includes international sensations Tyga and Aqua as headline acts. American rapper Tyga, known for chart-toppers like Rack City and Taste, will share the stage with Aqua, the iconic pop group behind the global hit Barbie Girl.
The line-up also features Arius (Laser Assassin), Meba Ofilia, Girish & The Chronicles, Nate 08, Finding Mero, Drum Tao, and more. Jason Derulo, Nora Fatehi, and The Script will be co-headliners on Day 1, 14th November , and then they will be accompanied by a number of regional and international artists.
In addition to music, the festival will also have arm wrestling, cosplay, fitness competitions as well as the Cherry Blossom Carnival.
