Digital Desk: A horrific road accident occurred around 4 a.m. near Umswai Weekly Market under Baithalangso Police Station in West Karbi Anglong. The mishap took place when a group of people was returning home from the Tiwa Langkhon Festival, celebrated annually on 31st October .
The passenger vehicle, the Max pickup, lost control and crashed and three of the women, Lt. Mani Amsong, Kulbari Malang and Siluni Amsong lost their lives at the accident scene. Another fifteen were injured and taken to Umpanai Medical Centre to get treatment.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident, while the incident has cast a shadow of grief over the community celebrating the Tiwa Langkhon Festival.
