Digital Desk: When BJP MLAs started to criticise him over the Chhapra hooch tragedy, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar lost his cool inside the Assembly.
"Kya hai Gaya, jehrili sharab, halla kar rahe ho tum log," Nitish Kumar said during the meeting. The JDU leader was also observed motioning to BJP MLAs to be silent.
This occurred during a conversation about the hooch catastrophe and the lathicharge on job seekers in Patna.
Following Nitish Kumar's words, BJP MLAs began asking him to apologise, causing a disturbance in the House.
The Opposition Leader, Samrat Chaudhary, said that the Nitish Kumar government was behind the distribution of bogus booze in the state and requested that a FIR be filed against him by the deceased's family members.
BJP legislators also demanded that the chief minister explain where the phoney liquor is coming from. Later, the opposition staged a walkout from the assembly.
The BJP has not missed an opportunity to corner Nitish Kumar since he left the saffron party in August and returned to the RJD to establish a new administration in Bihar.
The attacks have risen in response to JDU leader's efforts to gather anti-BJP parties for a united opposition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi when India votes to elect its new government in 2024.
In a rebuttal to the BJP, JDU leader Shalini Mishra stated that prohibition is working in Bihar and that the BJP is attempting to malign the state administration. "Strong action is being taken against the booze mafia, and the state's ladies are pleased with the CM's response," she stated.
Bihar enforced blanket prohibition in the state in April 2016, attracting a sizable number of female voters who were frequently perceived as victims of domestic violence at the hands of drunken men.
However, the state continues to see black market booze sales and deaths as a result of the drinking of locally created bogus whiskey.
The family members of the deceased in Chhapra alleged that their relatives perished as a result of the intake of hazardous whiskey. The event occurred in the Doila village of the Isuapur police station area and Yadu Mor of the Mashrak police station region.
