Digital Desk: Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Tuesday that the situation at the India-China border was "generally stable," a few days after troops from both sides clashed at the border.
"As far as we know, the China-India border situation is overall steady," said foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin, adding that the two countries "kept an unhindered conversation on the border issue through diplomatic and military channels."
Indian and Chinese troops clashed along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh on December 9, the Indian Army said in a statement. According to the Army, both Indian and Chinese soldiers suffered "minor injuries" as a result of the clash.
Reportedly, about 200 Chinese soldiers using spiked clubs and sticks clashed with Indian soldiers in Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang sector on December 9. The confrontation near Yangtse along the LAC occurred last Friday, amid a 30-month border standoff between the two sides in eastern Ladakh.
"PLA troops contacted the LAC in Tawang Sector, which was contested by own (Indian) troops in a firm and resolute manner. This face-off led to minor injuries to few personnel from both sides," the Army said in a statement.
"Both sides quickly disengaged from the area. Following the incident, own commander in the area had a flag meeting with his counterpart to discuss the matter in light of the established procedures for reestablishing peace and tranquility," the government said.

Singh stated that both sides' soldiers suffered minor injuries as a result of the conflict and added that the Chinese side had been urged to refrain from similar behaviour and preserve calm and harmony along the border. "The matter has also been raised with the Chinese side through diplomatic channels," he added.
On the other hand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that no one can seize even an inch of land until the Narendra Modi government is in power.
