An argument between the two sides escalated into a physical altercation, leading to a heated atmosphere inside the office

Digital Desk: Tension flared at the Birshing Jarua Block Development Officer (BDO) office in Dhubri district after a violent clash broke out between two groups, creating a chaotic situation on the premises.

The incident reportedly occurred while a complaint was being presented to members of the media. As per sources, an argument between the two sides escalated into a physical altercation, leading to a heated atmosphere inside the office.

The situation became so intense that a large team of police personnel had to rush to the spot to bring it under control. Police later detained three individuals from each group in connection with the clash.

The confrontation is said to have stemmed from allegations of interference in official matters of the Mohorir Char Gaon Panchayat, which falls under the Birshing Jarua Legislative Assembly constituency in Dhubri district. Residents have accused Kadam Ali, a school teacher and husband of Panchayat President Rahima Khatun, along with Rafiqul Islam, of interfering in the functioning of both the Gaon Panchayat and the Birshing Jarua BDO office.

According to a complaint lodged by local resident Abu Samad Sheikh, the matter had previously been raised multiple times with the Birshing Jarua BDO, but no action was taken. The clash reportedly erupted when these allegations were being shared with journalists.

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
