Police reported that in an effort to apprehend the perpetrator, who is still at large, they had enhanced checking at various locations.

Digital Desk: According to reports, a classmate from Gujarat's Valsad region was fatally stabbed after declining a young man's plea for a love engagement. The incident occurred on Thursday in the district's Umagram neighbourhood.

The 18-year-old victim has been identified as Hema Yadav. The accused stabbed the girl on a road close to the village of Dahad. Police have identified Pankaj Paswan, the victim's next-door neighbour, as the alleged murderer.

Paswan attacked the girl at 2:30 p.m. as she was riding her scooter home from her tutoring programme. The vicious assault was carried out by the accused and his two young friends, according to a Times of India article.

Following her classes, she also went to her friend's house. On the way back from there, Paswan lost sight of her. Initial evidence, according to the authorities, indicated that Paswan stabbed the girl. While the police have two minors in custody and it is claimed that his friends were not involved in the stabbing, the primary suspect, Paswan, is still fugitive.

"Small-time suspects are being detained. They were accompanied by the accused Paswan "a police officer said.

Police reported that in an effort to apprehend the perpetrator, who is still at large, they had enhanced checking at various locations.

The accused was forcing the girl into a relationship despite the fact that she had no interest, according to the police. The victim had additionally informed her parents about the Paswan's advances.
