Digital Desk: On Tuesday evening, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma directed the Deputy Commissioners via video conferencing in the conference hall of Assam House in New Delhi.
Assam CM remarks on Gaurav Gogoi, saying "he is a child, and I don't comment on small kids. Being a CWC member and being a member of a club is the same thing."
CM also pointed out some key points-
1| The current negotiations with the pro-talks side are moving in a positive way of the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) has generated confidence.
''The Chief Minister expressed optimism that the ongoing talks with the ULFA's pro-talks faction are progressing in the right direction, and said one of the outfit's demands for the protection of indigenous people's identity has been met following the demarcation of assembly and parliamentary constituencies in the aftermath of the delimitation exercise,'' an official statement read.
The Chief Minister expressed optimism that a day would come sooner rather than later when the Paresh Baruah-led ULFA (I) would accept the government's offer of a helping hand concerning entering into negotiations.
2| CM Sarma added that the public has responded positively to the state government's 1 crore Amrit Brikshya Andolan (tree plantation movement), and the government has chosen to include more and more individuals to surpass the goal on a single day.
Sarma disclosed that the app designed for the purpose has garnered over 46 lakh applications. The Chief Minister stated that he would like individuals to plant more than two saplings to increase the state's green cover.
3| Sarma also directed Deputy Commissioners to plan activities in schools and institutions the moment Chandrayaan 3 touches down on the moon tomorrow.
He asked them to prepare plans to display the momentous event on huge screens and TV sets, as well as to hold an essay competition following the achievement of the lunar voyage.
4| Following the delimitation by the Election Commission of India, the CM also asked the Deputy Commissioners to form sub-districts.
5| The Chief Minister stated that the 100th Cabinet meeting will be held in Guwahati on Friday, adding that the government will then issue a report card on all choices made and measures taken by the administration in terms of their implementation.
