Digital Desk: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath announced today that one of Ayodhya's main crossroads would be renamed after iconic singer Lata Mangeshkar.
The chief minister made the promise while campaigning in Kasganj ahead of the state's final six phases of election. On Thursday, voters in 58 assembly constituencies across 11 districts in western Uttar Pradesh went to the polls for the first time. According to the EC, the voting turnout was 60.17 percent.
"We're bringing Mumbai's film city to UP. Youth will be able to work in the film industry. In addition, we've chosen to construct an institution in honour of Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar. Without discrimination, we have provided assistance programs to all." Yogi Adityanath said.
Notably, CM Yogi Adityanath had previously accused the SP, BSP, and Congress of playing dynastic politics in Shahjahanpur. " he stated, "The SP, BSP, and Congress are all about their families, and they promote dynasties. When we discuss nationalism, they discuss casteism; when we discuss progress, they discuss religion and cemeteries. They talk about Jinnah while I talk about 'ganna' (sugarcane)."
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is also campaigning in Kasganj, complimented Adityanath for naming a 'chowk' in Ayodhya after Lata Mangeshkar.
