"According to the NITI Aayog report, Gujarat ranks 16th in poverty alleviation, 18th in hunger, 17th in quality education, 15th in gender equality, and 19th in Affordable Clean Energy," Solanki said.

Digital Desk: The Congress on Tuesday questions the Gujarat's projection as a model state in the country on Tuesday, citing NITI Aayog's 2020-21 report. According to the party, the most recent indices showed that the state's ranks on several human indices had dropped. The legislator of Dasada constituency Naushad Solanki was speaking in the House on a Motion of Thanks to the Governor's address. "Education Minister Jitu Vaghani complimented Gujarat's education approach and declared that the state is number one, but let me explain the genuine picture. In the recently stated Sustainable Development Goal 2020-21 of the NITI Aayog, Gujarat's total performance is tenth, not first," Solanki said. "According to the NITI Aayog report, Gujarat ranks 16th in poverty alleviation, 18th in hunger, 17th in quality education, 15th in gender equality, and 19th in Affordable Clean Energy," Solanki added. "The state placed 9th for Decent Work and Economic Growth, and 21st for Reduction of Inequality, indicating that the government's lofty claims are far from reality," Solanki noted. The Dasada legislator went on to say that the NITI Aayog placed the state 27th for Responsible Consumption and Production, and for the Protection of Water, Land and Forest, the state was ranked 19th, which is why the Congress MLAs were protesting to defend tribal rights. "These data come from the government, not the Congress party. The fact that children are travelling abroad to study shows the status of affairs. The BJP has taken inclusive development to a level of degeneration," added the MP.
