New Delhi: Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Ghulam Nabi Azad stated that he does not see Congress winning 300 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections to change the decision of the BJP led NDA Government concerning the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir.

The leader stated, "Only Supreme Court can determine on Article 370. Besides the apex court, solely the ruling government can do it. The present government has canceled it, how will they do it? And I cannot ensure you that Congress will get 300 seats in the 2024 elections. I pray that Congress wins 300 seats but I don't see that happening now."

Azad commented on the National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah without taking his name. Omar recently criticized the Congress party's silence on Article 370.

In this reference, Azad stated, "Some people have the practice of carrying castles in the sky. However I will never befool my people claiming that I can bring stars and moon on the earth."

Lately, Azad had asked political parties to form an environment where the people start believing that the polls can be held and the political process can be carried out.

"I am not stretching into party politics now. I am not delivering against any party now because this is not the atmosphere in the state at present. Rather I ask that all political parties, instead of criticizing each other, must form such an environment in the state that the people here start believing that the election can be held and the politics could be done," he said.

Moreover, Azad urged all the political parties to come together and unite. All should question the government regarding the delay of upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu & Kashmir.
