Assam: Lakhimpur district in Assam is hit by covid-19 case as one guest out of 29 visitors at Maple Leaf Hotel, North Lakhimpur was found to be positive.

“On Monday a person was tested covid-19 positive and in reference to it we had done a covid-19 test to 29 people at Maple Leaf Hotel out of which one person named Rajiv Agarwal aged 58 from Kolkata was tested covid-19 positive on Tuesday, he was shifted to the Lakhimpur civil hospital,” the health official said.

Amidst the election fever grappling the state of Assam, the state is also seeing a surge in the number of covid caseload. It may be mentioned, in the last 24 hours, the country's total covid cases have surged passed 1 lakh.

The administration is making covid protocols strict as well as for the passengers entering Assam from different states.
