Digital Desk: India recorded 1,249 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 7,927, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.
The death toll has risen to 5,30,818 with one death each reported by Karnataka and Gujarat, according to data updated at 8 a.m.
The daily positivity rate was 1.19 percent, and the weekly positivity rate was 1.14 percent.
The Covid case tally was recorded at 4.47 crore (4,47,00,667).
According to the ministry, active cases now account for 0.02 percent of overall infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.79 percent.
So far, 92.07 crore tests for Covid detection have been conducted, with 1,05,316 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
The number of people who have recovered from the disease has climbed to 4,41,61,922, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19 percent.
According to the ministry's website, 220.65 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far as part of the nationwide vaccination campaign.
