New Delhi: Zydus Cadila’s covid-19 vaccine for children for the age group above 12 years is likely is to be available by August announced by National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) Chairman Dr N K Arora on Sunday.

The NTAGI chief added that its vaccination trials are likely to be completed by the end of July.

The NTAGI chief said, “Trial will almost complete till July-end and in August, we will be able to vaccinate children aged between 12-18 years.”

Moreover, the chief claimed that the vaccines available in India are 95-96 per cent safe.

NTAGI chief said, "Scientifically, we have been looking at adverse events during vaccination, 95-96 per cent people have an only mild fever or local pain, 4-5 per cent people have been hospitalized due to an allergy or some get anxious and they have to be hospitalized but otherwise these vaccines are absolutely safe.”
